What is dye sublimation?
Our process uses a sublimation transfer created from a photo and transfers it onto polyester or polymer-coated tiles. Then heat is applied which changes the solid print on the paper into a gas, which then prints into the polymer surface, creating a smooth surface.
What kind of tiles are used?
- Glossy Tiles: Provides a brilliant canvas for best artwork and photo reproduction. Susceptible to scratches, and not recommended for surfaces which require frequent cleaning.
- Satin Hard Coat Tiles: A highly resilient and scratch resistant matte finish wall tile. Recommended for vivid photo / art reproduction. Also recommended for trivets.
- Glass Tiles: Custom manufactured in the United States, these glass tiles are the first dye-sublimation tiles to meet ANSI and ASTM standards for residential and commercial wall or floor applications. Images are applied to the backside of the glass to protect the dyes from wear and abrasion. Recommended for floors, walls and swimming pools.
- Tumbled Stone Tiles: A flat stone finish that represents any art or image in an old-world fashion. The tiles must be sealed if used in a water application.
- Porcelain Tiles: A non-porous tile, impervious to freeze / thaw conditions. Recommended for all water applications.
